Writers conferences are an excellent way to reconnect with your muse and network with other writers. However if time and money are in short supply, here are a couple of alternatives that are easy on the schedule and the wallet:
- Opt for a micro-retreat and slip away to a library, coffee house or park and spend some time with these writers & their musings on the craft.

- Stop by one of my favorite on-line haunts for writers—Tiny Lights Based in Sonoma County, CA Tiny Lights provides flashes of inspiration and encouragement to writers. Their Search Lights & Signal Flares forum always has thought provoking questions and offers writers opportunity to share their insight and support other writers. Tiny Lights is like cozy coffee house where newcomers are always welcome.
